Sue Hollingsworth MBA has a background in the private sector at Director level but in 1994 completely retrained as a professional storyteller. In 1996 she was a founding partner in the ground breaking consultancy Storytelling in Organisations whose mission was to explore the transformational power of story to address some of the key issues in business today. She later set up Storymatters Ltd and specialises in helping leaders and organisations identify, shape and tell their stories in a compelling and memorable way. The core of her work is the belief that the skilled use of story can transmit value and meaning in the workplace. As both consultant and coach, she assists leaders and teams to operate on the frontier where structure and creativity, fact and imagination, the personal and the professional all combine to deliver maximum potency.
From 1999 – 2005 Sue taught and led the 13 week full time training in storytelling at the international School of Storytelling in East Sussex and still runs annual courses in organisational storytelling there. She also works closely with Oxford University Business School and the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
Clients include: Shell, BP, Barclays Bank, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, Deloittes, DLA Piper, RoyalSun Alliance, SmithKline Beecham, the Strategic Planning Society, National School of Government, the Association of British Insurers and others.
Sue is based in East Sussex and besides stories, her other passions are long distance walking and singing – all three often seem to go together!
